Book Report 18: Find Your Why

This is a follow up book to Simon Sinek's "Start With Why." It's a bit different in that, instead of conveying a story with real world examples, it's more of a guidebook on, as the title states, finding your Why. (though there are helpful real life examples and stories, it's not the main focus, and the book does not read as a story, but more like a guidebook).

The book is a collection of steps, which are simple but thorough, on how you can find your why. While not easy to do, the steps aren't complicated and with real effort, you'll be able to, in time, finish the steps. The key here is 'real effort.' As the book mentions, if you're not truly in it to find out your why, you won't be able to find it and you'd be wasting your time reading the book.

There are steps in the book for individuals to find their Why, as well as for a Group (like an organization). Both are quite useful depending on your own unique circumstance.

I do believe that you truly should read 'Start With Why' along with watching Simon's Ted Talk before reading Find Your Why. It'll make more sense, and you'll be able to better understand the entire process.

I myself have been searching for my own 'Why Statement,' and after reading this book, have specific steps on how to achieve it and am working towards it. While this is a process that will take time, one I do not plan to rush, I am fully committed to it and will put in the real effort required.

I hope that you too, will be able to enjoy reading this book as much as I did, and put in the real effort needed to finding your Why.
