UCLA KEMBA Dinner

I was invited as an honorary Korean EMBA to the UCLA KEMBA (Koren Executive MBA) dinner!

I felt proud to be included!

We met up with some EMBA 23s in addition to us EMBA 22s, ayongwith our accounting Professor Gina and her significant other.

Professor Gina really made accounting, which is not always the most interesting subject, quite interesting ! She used recent events, such as COVID affecting LIVE NATION and TicketMaster sales, as in how did they properly do the accounting for concerts they had to postpone, cancel, refund, etc.

She also helped us learn how to better read and understand K1 Statements, financial documents, and more.

While I have had a basic understanding of accounting from undergrad (and from my own businesses), it was refreshing to learn a stronger foundational base.

For this dinner, I was able to connect with some new EMBA 23 students whom I hadn’t met before, and I was glad I was able to expand my network and make new friends.

The dinner was delicious, and while a bit overpriced (not sure if I would go back), the atmosphere was great. It was quiet enough for us to be able to have our meaningful conversations, and the food came out promptly as well.
